260hp+ Accura 3.2 or 3.5(whatever) Type-S
I got to talking to a father of this kid, who built my computer and he, the kid, told me he put in 20 gigs of storage memory but actually it was only 8 gigs....Anyway, both the father and the son got brand new Accuras. The father's car I saw at a family party and told him that his gloryfied Honda Accord is "for kids" just like "Twix". He starts to tell me his son's 2002 S-Type comes with 260HP and farther more that his son had factory installed headers?
Has anyoe heard of Hond...err..Accura installing headers? He goes to tell me that these "headers" make the Honda produce 300hp!!! I asked him: "How do you figure? I mean did they put the car on a dyno?" He tells me they "plugged it into the ""COMPUTER"" and it came up w/those figures. The funny thing is that claims that the Type-S will beat my Firebird but will not beat my Toyo...er..Lexus GS400. Since I know that my bird is faser than my GS400, I'm sure I can beat the Accor..I mean Accura. MY question is, do they have actually have a "header" option? Has anyone seen/raced/drove one of these cars?

I don't know about 1/8 mile times but is 9s a good number? 9s is a good 1/4 mile number but we all know that.
Thanks for confirming the "factory header" thing. I thought the kid's father was bull-****tin'.

I don't know about the factory headers thing, but I kinda doubt that the motor makes 300hp, or even 260hp.
I think 9's in the 1/8 equals 15's in the 1/4?
not sure

They do advertise the car at 260hp. I'm not impressed though. Not by the car, nor by the specs. It's friggin' Rice, is all.

a 9.0 in 1/8 would be about 13.6 in the 1/4 so its prob. stepping into 14 sec 1/4's, I had a street run in with one of the 3.2 CL's I believe it was in my 2.8, got my *** handed to me, never saw that one coming after all the other hondas I wiped the road with, with a 5.0 you should be able to eat him up though.

my friend tells me that Accura sells performance mods through their dealerships. don't know if he is right or not, but that would explain the factory installed headers. he says they do it in japan and they're starting to do it here now...? anybody confirm/deny? mildy curious if it's true or not.

Rice is trying to mame a car look a lot faster than it is.
A 2900 pound STOCK 260 Horse (280 w/ headers??) will hand it to a lot of thirdgen's. I was with my friend last night in his 86 305 4 barrel holley edel proformer manifold, etc. And we raced a kid that use to go to our school in a 2000 grand am GT.. stock.... its prolly got like 220HP. It beat our *** from the light, mid speeds, top speeds, on the highway..... IT just straight up killed us (we raced him like 12 times)..... anyway im sure the Acoooora with 280HP is a lot faster than the grad am. RACE HIM!!! it wont hurt to lose.... it will just give you the performance bug in your pant!

260 hp is the stock rating of the Acura 3.2 CL Type-S. They have a very well geared 5 speed auto trans, which no doubt aids its performance tremendously. And I'm pretty sure it ways more than 3000 pounds. 1/4 mile times that I have seen for the car are around 14.7 seconds.
don't know about factory performance headers being avaiable or not, but a 40 hp gain is nuts, unless perhaps it also includes a computer upgrade.
