Well, since no 88 Camaro came stock with a 454, what is the motor out of?
I think the hardest part is going to be getting a T5 to live behind a 454 for a race.

Is it that hard to provide some info? What is a "stock" 454? What year/vehicle did it come out of?

You could have 200hp or you could have 400hp. We need to know what it's out of. Either way you'll have fun getting the 454 to catch traction with the amount of torque they make...

Well without proper information I still have to wonder...
The 3rd gen with a big block has to weight like 3500-3600 lbs, while the LT1 4th gens I thought weighed less than 3300.
Are you making 300+ horses? If not chances are you wont even hang with him.

A lot of third gens weigh in the range of 3300-3400 without a driver. 4th gens weigh in around 3500lbs without a driver. Maybe more, they are a little heavier than the 3rd gens, not the other way around....

I actually was talking to some guys on another forum about the weight, the 4th gens "average" weight actually falls a whopping 100lbs lighter using the average of various curb weights for each. 4th gen around 3400(V8)-3300(V6) where as the 3rd gen falls around 3400(V6) to 3500(V8). I spent about 30 minutes cruising various sites and wiki pages to gather curb weights to average it out for both generations.

Like viper said, you'd have to find the heavier thirdgen trims and compare them to the lighter 4thgen trims to support your argument. "Generally" speaking, 3rdgens are lighter.
