2000 SS vs 400 small block camaro

this cocky guy wants to race me, i've declined numerous times, one because i i just got the car and i dont have a feel for it. 2nd, i did not know what was done to his car.

My 00 SS
Headers +catback
tune
pushing 320rwhp
stock 3.23 gears

His 3rd gen.
built 400
manual
4.10 gears

he had a ghetto turbo on it but i was recently told he took it off.

any ideas?
worst case scenario? how much power do common/built 400s push out?

Re: 2000 SS vs 400 small block camaro

well, It depends, The 400 can make 190hp or it can make 700hp. Need way more info to give you an adequate response.

What he said. "Built" doesn't tell anyone anything at all.

yeah i know, i'll try to find out but he's the type i'd have to take it with a grain of salt.

he was talking to some friends of mine (that dont know anything about cars) and he was spilling his gospel of how he runs 10s at the track. i whole heartedly call on that one

Re: 2000 SS vs 400 small block camaro

my guess, its a stock 400, maybe a rebuild, with and edelbrock carb and crappy headers.

you will probably kill it

Re: 2000 SS vs 400 small block camaro

How good is his driving skills?
With a manual pushing 4.11 gears he will spin like crazy off the line if he doesn't know how to control the launch. So right there is a favor to you.
