Which car should I use?
My sister's boyfriend is buying a '90 Accord sedan. I'm thinking of racing him (probably go to the local track), but I don't know which car I should use. I don't know what motor it is exactly. Here are our specs:
His Accord
SOHC
CAI
Headers
3" downpipe
Full exhaust
I think a short-throw shifter
(I will know more about his this weekend)
Mine
87 Camaro
2.8 5-speed w/ 3.42 non-posi rear
Gutted dual snorkel intake w/ K&N filters
Full tune-up
New clutch-kit (OEM style)
88 Firebird
350 TBI
3.08 gears non-posi
700r4 (don't know the stall)
Hi-flow cat
2.5" exhaust w/ VForce muffler
Open element air cleaner
The firebird isn't running right now but should be up and running soon and might end up being carb.
So which one of my cars should I use to beat him? Or should I try both of them, see what my 2.8 can do and then try my Firebird? Could my 2.8 win? Don't know when this will happen, but I'll post when it does.

Hahaha!
It was only selling for $350 with some cosmetic damage.
He's a sucker for imports (needs an intervention). Yeah, I didn't quite understand the choice of the car, I tried to get him to get a third gen, but no luck. He used to have a Supra but moved out here to be with my sister.

Re: Which car should I use?
Why not? It's all for fun anyways, being a buddy of mine. I got a good look at it, engine bay is pretty gutted, and has some nice work done to it. The PO wasn't a *****. Needs some things replaced (ie motor mount).
And besides, it would be a good test for my 2.8 Camaro.
And if I lose, I'll post it, I'm not afraid or ashamed of a loss. A good learning experience.

I just might have to, as I'm getting really close to figuring out the problem with it and should have it running in the next couple days!

Re: Which car should I use?
Well he sold it. So there goes that idea. Pfft. Maybe he'll be smarter and buy a better quality car instead of something that broke the day he bought it. He did sell it to some dumbass that bought it for $600.

Re: Which car should I use?
Man thats ghey. as a owner of BOTH a 90 accord and a 2.8 firebird i can kinda give an accurate judgement.
My accord had an intake, headers & exhaust, pretty much the same stuff. With an 2.2 f22a. It is faster than the 2.8 (nobody better argue that, i KNOW it is). It wouldn't be a horrible loss, but still most likely a loss. then again i cant drive both cars to determine..

Maybe he'll buy something faster to better test my Firebird.

Re: Which car should I use?
Yeah. I have to replace the fuel pump, so he better keep his new car for when the Firebird is done.
In the meantime, I'll stick to imaginary races with my Firebird. Oh I can't wait to take it out.
