American muscle can do it too
This story is a few years old but figured that I would share it. I bought my bone stock 91Z back in 97 while I was stationed in Germany and was cruising down the autobahn one day about 90-95MPH just minding my own. That's when a Porsche, don't know what kind (pretty one though) blowed past me like I was sitting still. How could any red-blooded American have that happen?! So I dropped the hammer and closed the distance fairly desent. About that time I see him glance up at me in his rearview mirror and grin. Off we went down the German Autobahn. At that speed my Z seemed to just sink down lower and levitate just above the road. When he seemed to quit speeding up I looked down to note my speed and saw the needle between 135 and 140 mph, didn't even look at the tach (wished I had) and the pedal wasn't all the way on the floor. He may have been able to pull off from me at any moment but he didn't and I stayed right with him till I got to my exit. Just before I started to slow down and come out of the right lane for my exit he looked back at me in his rearview and I gave him a friendly wave and a smile, as to say "yep, we can do it too".

Yes, they can go. I have done over 150 mph in my 91 formula. The tachometer was just over 4600 rpm in 5th when my needle was at the "MPH" letters, past the 140 mark. The whole time she was smooth and steady as silk. No instability what so ever.
