agreed awd cars (sti, talon, evo..so on) are fast from most any speed. the launch merely helps them get to speed faster.

That's basically crap horsepower. Nothing to be proud of (IMHO). Now, if the WRX were modded with a full exhaust and the correct ECU management then we're talking something. WRXs can put down 240 horsepower to the wheels with a custom ECU tune and a full exhaust (note that I said custom tune and not an off the shelf tune). STIs shouldn't even be discussed in this post. The guy didn't race an STI. It was just a standard WRX. STIs with full exhaust and a custom tune put down over 300hp to the wheels (and, honestly, that is just where respectable horsepower begins).

AWD's strong point isn't roll racing is all i'm saying. I hear that you can take .5 off an AWD's ET to decide about how strong it is from a roll. Just what I heard..not a proven method.
If it's a 13.2 second car from a standing 1/4 mile, with that method it's still a 13.7, which is still fast. I don't agree that a 13 second car is a 13 second car though...
That's like saying...a 3000GT Vr4 runs a 13.5 @ 103 and that is equal to an LS1's 13.5 @ 106...not really.

I say you got lucky. adding an exhasut to a stock tune WRX is actually gonna COST him some power (don't belive me, look it up). I have a couple friends with WRX's...your car must be a freak. WIth a simple tune, adn exhaust (intake does NOTHING for those cars, and has been PROVEN time and time again to lower output). My buddy put down 230 with jsut exhaust adn a "off the shelf" map. Car clicked off high 13's (13.86 best ET).
That's a very good kill.

230 to the wheels on a WRX with an OTS tune and TBE can be done on a high reading dyno with no correction factors. Most WRXs with a TBE and OTS tune will put down about 220whp on a dynojet. 240whp with a custom tune.

One needs only to look at how good of a 60 ft. time an AWD is capable of turning on street tires to figure this out.

If Subaru is going to release the STi with the 2.5 (which is past the 2.0 limit of the rally car anyway) they might as well beef up the turbo. Hell, in Japan the Evo has several packages (one of which has 400 hp from the factory) and kicks the STi's *** all over the place. Not to mention the fact that the Japanese STi's only have the 2.0 motor. Too bad Mitsubishi is tanking and their customer service policies suck ***** when it comes to racing.
