Coming home from a vacation in Tahoe, the gta was performing quite well on the tight and twisty roads of HW-50(for those in the area). After replacing the u-joints on the drivetrain, the car no longer shook at 65 mph, so we were able to go much quicker on the long strecthes. Satisfied with the fun of the twisty roads, we just cruised the rest of the way home, or at least most of the way. About 20 minutes from home, we ran into traffic and etc. Cruising along with traffic, there wasn't much room to really speed or anything like that. But, I guess the black new tiburon behind us with some chick in it thought that we were going too slow. So, she decided that she wanted to own us and the rest of traffic by dangerously and idioticly speeding and weaving in and out of traffic for the heck of it. I guess she thought her Tiburon was hot stuff because she was passing vehicles going the speed limit. We were fed up with her egotistical driving so when the traffic cleared we saw she was up there quite a ways, and we gunned it and caught up to her in a matter of seconds. Going up a hill, the single lane turned into double lanes and we pulled up next to her. She had a cocky face on her, and then I heard her mighty tiburon engine go wot. So, my bro nailed it, and left her wayyyy back in buslengths. We come up to the red light ahead, and here comes the king of the road that just got their a** handed to them, and they wanted more, so that's what we gave them. The light turns green, and we wait for her to take off and she does, a high pitched buzz coming from the oversized tailpipe. We take off and immediately get up to her door panel and we let off. We see her shift it into 2nd, and we decided to just finish her off, and we get up to about 75, and her bada** tiburon is now no where to be seen in the rearview. The lanes turned back to a single one and she had stay behind us for miles. He even slowed down coming down the hill, pissing her off more. When the road came to a passing lane, she pulls out and guns it again, just to **** her off more, we nail as well and just make her fall back behind us. I just think it's so stupid when people weave through traffic that's not even racing or anything like that and they think they have the fastest car on the road. Pretty much any car can go fast, but it's how long it takes that car to get to that speed that really shows how quick it is, and unfortunately, she had to learn it the hard way by being spanked by an 80's trans am that costed severley less than her Road Owning Tiburon. I guess she couldn't hang with the torque of the tpi, poor tiburon. The setup on the gta is as follows. 355 with a Crane Compucam 2032 214/220, .495/.508, 1.6 ratio Crane Gold race rockers, AFR 190's, Edelbrock hi flo base plate, SLP semi-siamesed runners w/porting and matched to plenum, Accel 23 lb/hour injectors, afpr, k/n, SLP 1 3/4 headers, Catco dual cats, SLP catback(TOL), 700R4 w/transgo shift kit, 2200 stall, aluminum radiator, 3.23 gearing(might be slightly off), and BFG comp t/a's with 255/50/16 back, and 245/50/16 front. Just trying to show these types of people how stupid they are. Anyone else get fed up with people like that?

I can't stand people like that. I am glad that you made her learn the hard way not to play around with the wrong car. But she probobly still didn't learn.

What do those things run anyway? Friend of mine has an auto version and says low mid 15's but I kinda doubt it. maybe a 6 speed but low 15's? He only got exhaust and some intake mods. Nice car but why try to fight a losing battle? At least he knows his place around my L98 Iroc. He would get owned!! Some will never learn. Way to put her in her place. Alot of chick drivers and their importers driving around like in the movies. See it all the time.

i have a friend with a gt v6 tiburon (top of the line), so far he's only put a cold air kit on it but it still runs the same numbers as it did when it was completely stock---->a depressing 15.3 @ 90mph. he thinks this thing is the fastest thing on the road and always wants to argue with me about how much faster he is than me. i run 15.9 with 188,000 miles on a 305 4bbl with minor mods for appearance and sound. he likes to brag but i'de be deppressed if i could only beat a car that costs nine times less than my car does by .6 seconds. had to get that off my chest, he just pisses me off because i don't care how fast my car is, just how it looks, until i get the job i'm in school for, but even then i only want mods to get the car running like new.
EDIT: his parents bought the car and the cold kit for him and he isn't doing any other mods until THEY buy his exhaust

Had a girl in a Honda **** me off this morning on the way to work.

Here I am driving like normal, over the speedlimit, but under 10mph over, on city streets. This Honda races up behind me and then with very little skill pulls to my right, races past me, and cuts in front of me to get around a car in the right lane.

All to get to the next stop light, which was red, and was going to be red for awhile.

So, I'm behind her, and we're behind 3 other cars. Light turns green and she's taking off like a banshee, but not getting anywhere fast.

If she had bothered looking ahead, she would have seen the big yellow school bus, which always stops right after the light.

So, the 3 other cars get past the school bus, but the lites have already been blinking yellow, so she slows and stops as the lites turn red.

So, we're sitting there for the bus to finish loading and I can see her looking in her rearview mirror.

She takes off like a banshee again, so I floor it and keep right on her. No more than a 1/2 car length the entire time. So she taps her brakes in a lame attempt to intimidate me, I swing into the empty lane and floor it again, leaving her in the dust.

I get to the next red light, and she pulls up next to me.

Again, she takes off, but this time I floor it from the start and she didn't stand a chance. I was a car length ahead at 60' and 2 car lengths by the time the trans shifted to 2nd.

So, yet another story of someone who wanted to own the road, but couldn't back it up.

Yeah those Tibi's are nice looking cars but the I6 that hyundai puts in them don't take well to mods. I think it might be due to the restrictive throttle body but I can't be sure. We have a guy driving a decked out one here in town. Thought the car was great until he brought it up to the king of the hill and did a 1/4 mile run in 16.13 seconds. His car is the I6 with CAI, Chip, and an Ractive exaust system. I raced him a couple times and he just said "the reason your winning is because of the 2 extra cylinders"...meanwhile its cuz his car is a guttless toad.

I swear, everywhere I go I see young, impressionable teens with weird colored(sometimes pink) honda hatchbacks with their hubcabs taken off to reduce weight flying through traffic as if they are in a rally race with the soccer mom driving her kids to the park in her new dodge caravan with a fully loaded interior, 4 kids, and a whopping 180 horse engine pulling 5500 pounds. What are they thinking??? They line up at a stoplight with a freaking corolla with a 50 year old guy in it and automatically just because maybe he had to get the rpm's up to disengauge the clutch that this guy wants a piece of him?? I don't know about you, but I think this just might have something to do with that fererrai scene in that movie i just can't bear to say the name. I wonder how much different the next generation automotive enthusiasts would of been if they actually understood a movie from reality. Everywhere I hear, 13 year old kids talking about how they are going to buy a supra when they get their license, and get a "Stage 3 turbo kit" with "nos" and "hella shiny rims". I just can't stand how dumb some of these youngins are getting. I'm not old myself, but I sure as heck know what is reality. I'm not rich, and I'm not famous, so I looked for what was reasonable and real. I grew up with a family that loved american v8's, and I was always there to hold the flashlight while my dad worked on his 70 406 el camino. my brother bought his 89 gta when I 12, and there no turning back from there. I found an 88 Z28 with a v8 and a manual tranny and that's all I asked for, nothing more, nothing less. I wanted to be apart of that classic society that works for what they get. Of course it wasn't in perfect condition, but that was the fun of it, myself, now learning to work on my own v8. I got used to the idea that it wasn't a big thumper like my dads, and it wasn't going to punch out 11 second quarter mile times, but I knew it was mine, my own chunk of american history, and I was going to be d***ed if imports were going to own american roads. Sorry, just venting, but I've had enough of this.

we were near by Zephyr cove to play some disc golf. We were cruisin around by the casinos and saw lots of vipers, I mean lots of vipers. Made my day when we got revved at by a GTSR. :hail: :hail: :hail:

Yes i know your pain when i cruise in the nova i get lots of socalled "r icers" trying to show off infront of there friends and atempt blow the doors of a musclecar. they all fail every last one but some of them unusualy show lots of respect and they intrest me by showing losts of intrest in the car after geting owned its pretty cool. one kid told me he wanted to trade his car in for a camaro after geting disgraced like that so i do what i can to convert the unknowing youth lol. for example i was on the begining of an onramp with a stoplight. it was late (about 12) and not alot of people where on the six lane highway that it leads to. an s2000 with an exaust and most likely an intake pulls up flicks a rev at me and the owner smiles.so i turn the music down a bit shift into one and as i do that i nodice the light behind me turned yellow so i know its time to play i rev her to 1550 and hold it for a sec. she goes green i mash the gas get a little spin and then take off like a bat outa hell. i shif into 2 at 6500 then drive at the next 6500rpm so i let off the gas and nodice im going about 115 so i shift into nuteral and glide for awhile i hear him comeing up fast and insded of the typical fly by hes gota his top down and i see him with a big smile and the thumbs up. the onramps about an 1/8th mile and its uphill but it was alot of fun and his respect jsut made my night
