Funny video. Only one thing didn't sit right with me.
When the tune "frowned" on the MR2 Turbo... That's just wrong. I'd kill for a 2nd gen MR2 turbo.
In all honesty, I really do like imports, but its the stupid kids here that ruin their whole.... well, everthing.
But I think its really dumb to see imports like the Supras, Rx7s, MR2 Turbos, or the high-end imports put down just because they're imports. Those type of cars deserve more respect IMO.

Yep Supra, Mr2, Rx7 are all way overpriced sprt cars
thats why Camaros and Firebirds are better (imo) There cheap good power sport/muscle cars. And you always can go aftermarket with them as well

P.S. There are MUCH better handling cars than Supras, they aren't even known for handling, but the third generation Camaro or Firebird isn't one of them. Nor will it ever be. Sorry.

aw man... and people thought the mustang guys on this board were bad, now the junkass guy brought in the importers.
Most people here don't care too much for the mustang owners, so if you are going to try to convince us here that thirdgen's can't compare to imports in categories (ie. saying an f-body can't handle a turn... ) your wasting a lot of energy.

You practicaly are throwing your lottery ticket in the trash wasting a good $38000 on a car that is outclassed by a design that came out 20 somewhat years ago, and is a great station for engine swaps. I have about $7,000 into my car and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It carves corners like a hot knife through butter and eats new model vehicles for lunch and dinner. But sure, waste your money on the over priced v6 .

yep, a thirdgen is the way to go. I would take a fox body over the imports any day. I know two guys with supras one has the older style the other has the "bad *** one" whoooo which lost it on a turn in the country which all the local thirdgens take everyday. he has also dumped tons of $$ (I mean tons!) in it a still gets his a$$ handed to him.
sorry but, I think this is the wrong place to bash a thirdgen buddy!

I'm not bashing thrid gens, just like I'm not praising Supras, but come on, let's get real here....a Honda Civic CRX handles better than a third gen. Two things
1) Yes, I know that just about any car can turn.
2) I might be more reluctant to say something, if my mechanic (who has $20,000 into a third gen for SCCA Solo racing) hadn't bitched to me about how he has all this stuff done to his car (including custom aluminum wheels that are so light weight that he can't even drive with them on the street) and CRXs were still getting around the track 2 whole seconds faster than he was. No, of course they weren't stock, not even close, so don't think that's where I was going.

So it never occured to you it might be the driver. Perhaps you need to send Crazy Hawaiian or v6sixtoy a private message. Im pretty sure they can enlighten you on the handling of these cars. I have never owned a car that could cut corners the way my thirdgen does.

so, where exactly DID this guy come from? i mean, i understand coming on other boards to learn about the competition, but i don't get this. its like every thread that pops up he's right there with a big, "GO IMPORTS" banner. i think it is BS. a properly equipped third gen in good shape (WS6 or IROC-DON'T EVEN TRY TO COMPARE A 1LE...) would EASILY take corners that would make a Stupra go greasy side up. if you wanna brag about your damn import, go to an IMPORT board and live it up...i don't really care that your fujujitzsu micro processor jigowatt convertor gives you 2 million horsies at the wheels. its not a thirdgen, or even AMERICAN for that matter. its not a problem when you are just here, reading and posting info that MIGHT be useful to someone, but all you are doing is trying to convert (?) us all to liking imports...i guess you must have gotten made fun of on the import boards so you thought you'd try something new...? i think you should go away...:lala:

Car: 87' IROC
Engine: L98
Transmission: T56
Seriously have you even driven or even rode in a WS6 or IROC equipt car? I'm not bashing supras, my best buddy has one, but don't underestimate a thirdgen. It is NOT a muscle car from the 60's that doesn't handle for ****. Some people think just because its american that means it doesn't handle well.

Allow me to include some hard cold data. A stock 87 IROC could take a 75-ft radius turn at over 60mph pulling .85G, punch it up to 80mph 4 seconds later, then come to a full stop in 260 feet. With a top speed of 149mph. All for around 18 grand.
That was SEVENTEEN years ago. With the vast suspension, steering, drivetrain and engine aftermarket available to us now, that same car can run 12s in the quarter mile AND pull over 1G on the skidpad. And it's all going to cost less than any comparable new sports car. If that's not impressive, I don't know what is.
As an aside, please stop bickering about who should and shouldn't be on the boards. Everyone has a right to come here and post, especially on the Street Racing forum. stu has good points, and yes some Supras will blow the doors off most any car on the street. But you're all just whipping out your manhood and saying "mine's bigger." Put it away already. Any car can be made to run 9s with enough money.

Listen up all you crybabies. I'm not trying to convert anyone to anything. It just irrates the **** out of me when people talk out of their asses. I'm just pointing out things to broaden your horizons, no harm in learning something new right?
I can't think of one time when I said something about how great imports are. I don't even care where a car comes from. The only reason all you babies think that is because I've got nothing else to talk about here. I thought that even considering the make of a car when talking about what it can and can't do was a thing of the past, but apparently I've stumbbled upon a community that is left in the past. So much so, that you can't even talk about anything else but a third gen, even in your kills section. I don't even know how this part of the board survives.
"Today I raced this car, I beat it so bad."
"Oh yeah, what kind was it?"
"Oh, it was some Mustang"
"Sorry, Mustangs aren't third gen related, CLOSED."
Anyway. I've only been posting when I notice someone say something that is totally rediculous or untrue. I dare anyone to step up and show me where I even once said something negative about anyones car here. I know many of you are defensive little cry babies, but if you take a step back and have a look, I've never said anything negative.
Speaking of saying negative tones. I find it hilarious how many of the people I've seen in this section of this board (not everyone) talks about how slow anything without a V8 is, and why do they even bother, and blah blah blah. But what do I see when I browse through the kill section?
Between the few, "I killed a Viper" or "I beat a Lightning" are a bunch of threads talking about playing with a Tarus, or wanting to know if you can beat a V6 Mustang, racing Grand Ams and S-10s, and getting beat by Lincolns. What's up with that?
Never mind, it's not my place to say anything here.
