Newbie lq4

Hello, new here. And new to going more then stock builds!

Sorry in advance for maybe some dumb questions as I知 extremely new to this.

I picked up a Lq4 with 799 heads they are both bare, no internals.

my goals is to build a turbo Lq4 for a swap I have wanted to do for years now and finally got the chance to do it. I would like to get as much hp I can. And do it right the first time.

everyone I have tried to talk to says to just build a stock engine witch I have on a 5.3l lm7 but I didn稚 pick the parts and that痴 where I知 having issues

so crankshaft will be stock as I have read they can handle 1000hp

first question is how do you pick the right pistons, rings, and connecting rods
when I知 looking at pistons they bore listed is the same bore as cylinders on my block.from what I have read you want slightly smaller piston bores then they cylinders. What would be a good cam and lifters

next questions is how do you know what internals will fit into the heads? So how do you pick valves, valve springs push rods, rockers

sorry again big time newbie trying to learn here

I wouldn't buy a single part until you do some extensive research on your goals. There are some good beginner LS build books out there and I suggest you buy a few and read them. While doing that, read all the stickies here in the LX swap forum and then reread them again. Learning is free and will save you money down the line. Set a budget for your project and be flexible enough to make changes and or amend your goals along the way. Since you are starting from scratch no one will be able to supply you with all the info you need in this thread. Best bet is to research and then research some more. Watch YouTube videos ect ect.
