Some help finding parts?

Some help finding parts?
Hello, while doing spark plugs I've just found that I've had a sensor wire burn through! I don't know how long its been like this, but can someone help me find the right sensor and pigtail?
Its between cylinder 1 and 3.
Weird thing is I don't think I've had any problems due to this? I'm pretty sure my gauge works, and I replaced the one for the fan on the passenger side.
88 305 TPI
Thanks for the help!

That's the sending unit for the temp gauge.
You can't get one with that "mushroom" style connector on it, that I know of. Other than that, it's as ordinary as can be. Should be in stock at the parts store down on the corner. New ones come with a regular ¼" slide terminal instead, takes the ordinary kind of connector.

Yup; pretty much the only way.
Although, if it's not shorted and not open, it's probably OK. Should be a few hundred ohms at typical room temperature.

Re: Some help finding parts?
So I just got my car started again for the first time in a month, and I had to be sure, but my temp gauge still works even without this sensor?
I'm fairly certain it's worked for as long as I've had it, and I don't think I've ever had it connected, as I've been around the spark plugs and the intake plenty.
How is this possible?
I'm gonna get a new sensor and wire today, but curious nonetheless.

You are 100% certain the gauge works. And yet that is the sensor for the gauge, with no wire connected to it. Could perhaps that sensor had died long ago, and a previous owner couldn't get it unscrewed from the head, and then went and installed a new sensor elsewhere on the engine?
Other than that, , , I got nothing.............

Yeah, the gauge settles at 0 cold. And incrementally increases as it warms up.
The sensor came out pretty easy, I didn't take it out all the way cause I don't have the replacement yet.
The sensor is located next to the first cylinder on the driver side.
