Stage 8
Has anyone run Stage 8 fasteners for their headers? A search didn't return much.
I'm thinking I'd like to use a set for my 1.75" tube SLP headers to my Vortec 305 (RPO L30, Casting 059) setup. But they offer several variations for the SBC.

That seems to be the complete line for SBCs.

I'd like stainless. The nickel plated steel seems like something that will fail fairly quickly in a harsh environment. But there seems to be just one stainless option...the 8951. It's 1" long. Others are 3/4" or 1.25" Not sure what depth I would need.
Looking at how the anti-rotation "washers" work, I think I'd prefer the teardrop shaped one, as they offer two possible alignments for each notch (by flipping the washer over). But the stainless 8951 has a D-shaped washer.
So I'm at a bit of a loss to figure out which one might be best. Was hoping someone here had some relevant experience?

Re: Stage 8
To figure out your length needed, I'd pull a bolt out of your current setup and figure out how deep it goes into the head, then add that size to your flange thickness and washer thickness and see what's closest.

Re: Stage 8
I’m using the stainless, 12 point with the teardrops. The locking feature of the Stage 8 can’t be beat, but the E clips are a PITA to work install and I have had to do it way too many times. There are other options, but they are not as reliable as the Stage 8’s. Just my opinion on this subject. Would I use them again?, most likely because of the peace of mind that they offer.

Do the SBC exhaust bolts go into the water jacket?
