Oil pan leaking again from rear.

Oil pan leaking again from rear.
I have a one piece felpro oil pan gasket that is leaking again by the rear seal. I’d really rather not go thorough all the trouble to pull the pan again for a small dripper. Has anyone had success just loosening the bolts enough to drop down the pan a bit to add some rtv? I think the felpro gaskets are reusable. I’m thinking it’s probably imperfections in the old pan itself is feuding the leak. Thoughts?

Yes I have. I haven't done it on a thirdgen oil pan but in many areas of many other engines. And I've reused gaskets old & new.

I have a canton road race pan, one piece gasket, and factory pan rail supports and I still have to run a skim coating of rtv on the top and bottom of the whole gasket to keep it from leaking. Make sure you get it around the pan bolt holes.

[QUOTE=yankeecarman;6480133] will the RTV seal it if the gasket and pan have oil on them?
Wipe off any oil and it should seal but sometimes problem areas don't do what they should.
