91 TPI Fuel pump test without ECU + ground query

Bit of a random one but is it possible to test a fuel pump in a 91 TPI Trans Am without the ECU?

Looking to actually run it and drain a near full tank of aged fuel. I've put power to the stray red wire by the relay off the firewall but I don't get anything.

If this should work, next question is if anyone knows where the fuel pump circuit grounds to?

Car is away from me and just weighing up whether to order a fuel pump based on the testing performed so far

Tried searching but those results mostly focus on removing TPI and maintaining the ECU for some features

thanks in advance!

Thanks. But to confirm is that also required when jumping the fuel pump circuit from the firewall relay? I thought that was an input to the ECU to keep the pump running when the car is running

A11 of the ecm controls the relay. Ops is backup for relay and is hot on one side.

update that this worked - ty

plugged in the oil pressure switch and again jumped the wire from the fuel pump relay and the pump buzzed; managed to empty the fuel tank out of old petrol.
