Coolant Temperature Sender

I am about to replace the sender on my '84 T/A 305 with a new one. There is teflon tape on the threads of the new sender. I think the tape should be removed & pipe thread stick compound be placed on the threads as the tape can mess up the grounding of the new sender. Yes or No?

Re: Coolant Temperature Sender

I usually have better luck with the tape for actual sealing.

I've always used teflon tape for them, never had a problem.
