This Is What My Engine Looks Like Today

As the picture shows, I have removed all the missing hardware to repaint. Previous owners did NO underhood maintenance, So I am undertaking the project. Not the first time I have done this.
All the parts were wheeled or sanded. The Intake manifold & valve covers were repainted with dupli-color high temp paint. Stabilizer bars were finished with tremcald. All these pieces are ready to re-install. Exhaust manifolds will be painted with VHT (primer & cast colour finish) tomorrow. Of course there are other areas that will be refinished over the next few days.
I took lots of pictures of the engine & it attachments to ease the re-installation of everything that I had to remove. Have a look

Two comments;

#1, Good work on the cleaning, I know it's tedious but you appear to have it under control, I'm looking forward to the finished pics.

#2, Maybe it's an oddity of the lighting when the pics were taken, but from here those coolant passages look nasty as all Hell Has a cooling system flush been done to it yet?

After 3 weeks, all the work is completed under the hood including new parts of waterpump, thermostat housing, gaskets & seals, cooling hoses, R.E.M. underhood pad. Lots of rattle cans of Tremclad, Dupli-color high temp black, VHT primer & exhaust ceramic paint. Attached are a couple of before & several after the fact.

I have been using the VHT ceramic manifold exhaust for years and have had great success.
