The radio works. Just put in a cassette / CD with engine revving noise

What kind of car is it? 82-92 Camaro or Firebird by any chance?

Oh...
This is a site specifically devoted to 82-92 Camaro & Firebird. No one here knows much about Nissan. Least of all, me.
No doubt there's a forum somewhere of people that specialize in what you need.

Check battery voltage, if bad boost or replace. If good unplug stereo. If it starts the stereo wiring is jacked. If no start, you may have triggered something in the anti-theft system. Try disconnecting the battery for a while. If that doesn't work you might need dealership help.

This thread... The range of emotions. I knew it was gold from the subject line. But the twists, the turns... I laughed, I cried, I laughed again. I'm convinced this should be a thing. Go to any random auto enthusiast forum, make a fresh ID, and post the OP's message word for word, and wait to see if the random forum figures it out quickly, or assumes the question is relevant.
