Pressurized coolant overflow/reservoir okay?

The coolant tank on my firebird when I bought it was aftermarket and cracked. Instead of just buying another aftermarket I went with one of those slick looking Rev9 aluminum ones. Having seen similar tanks on other cars here on the group I didn't notice/realize it was a sealed tank. Do I need to vent the tank, and what would be an appropriate solution for that?

Yes it needs a vent. Drill a hole in the cap. The bottle should never be more than about 3/4 full.

Awesome, thanks! I assumed it needed to be venting, just didn't want to go drilling without confirmation.

I have one and I didn't vent it, am I doing any damage by not venting it?
