Vortec Stealth Ram Intake Gaskets Questions

using a vortec stealth ram intake went to test fit and see how bad the ports match the heads and noticed that theres alot of side to side play/movement against the heads this was dry without gaskets

went online to see if i can get another vortec base assuming mine was machined or altered only to find out that its discontinued unless i buy the cheap speedmaster brand while i was looking i noticed that the vortec intakes use different intake gaskets compared to the SBC in that there thicker so im assuming that the play that i have is b/c of vortec intakes using upwards of .60 thick intake gaskets

i noticed that theres only 2 design intake gaskets for the vortec intake the FP1255 and the gm plastic with the rubber rings the 1255 advertised as being thicker of the 2 at .120

my questions are
is it normal for the vortec stealth ram intake to head to have more movement side to side compered to the standard SBC?
are there other types of vortec intake gaskets other than the two i mentioned?

Re: Vortec Stealth Ram Intake Gaskets Questions

They do use thick gaskets. And the factory plastic one's are a known failure point - often blowing out around the cooling ports. Get metal replacements. There are several from FelPro and Mahle, etc.
