so,
I would still like to keep this particular thread going for a little longer, since I still have some more non-engine "vehicle" topics to ask about, discuss, and post photos of...
.. however I decided to make a whole separate thread regarding getting the actual engine installed and running. it can be found here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ml#post6353373
- sorry for dual threads, I figured since it might be better to keep these topics separated, hope that is ok.
one photo for here,
but more can be found at the new thread, and even more can be found at this photo album link which I will add to as I take more photos: (album)
The gameplan is to install the engine on saturday, and then work on the plumbing, wiring, components. I am developing a LOT of questions in these areas, so feel free to read/help/yell at me at my other thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ml#post6353373

Just found this thread Dave, didn't realize you were doing a big overhaul like me! Hopefully yours doesn't take 2+ years like mine has. I really like the brake lines you bent up... I wish had done that. Struggling to re-use my stock ones now and I'm not sure I'll be happy with the look. I'm just trying to balance my neatness OCD and getting the car running this year!
Just a couple of quick answers to your questions of the top of my head:
- For the lower rad hose, I searched high and low for one with a spring in it too but couldn't find one. I think with today's advancements in rubber materials it might not be needed anymore.
- Motor mounts look OK, I went with the same polyurethane ones you did.
- Let me know what you decide on the coolant overflow tank... I'm in the market for one as well.
I'll be following along now!

its been a while since I updated this thread (since I started a new one specifically detailing the engine install and setup),
details can be found here
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...g-install.html
but I now have 1,000 miles on the new engine and it is a total blast to drive this car. tons of fun. !
