Ugh... this is not going well.

I have a 1984 L69 that I was freshening up before installing it in my Firebird.

I ordered a new oil pan and timing cover, as well as a gasket.

Went to install it all and the pan just won't fit over the gasket.

I had triple checked everything before ordering... so now I'm lost.

What did I order wrong? And what do I need?

Timing cover: http://www.ebay.com/itm/130744516087

Gasket: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-os34510t

Just want to cruise again!

So there are only two, and I chose the wrong one. Seriously, that's the odds I've been dealing with since the start!

Looks like the pan was listed incorrectly

Big surprise. Sorry for the dumb questions... but so can I not use the pan? Or do I just need the gasket you've posted to mate that pan to my block?

You just need a different gasket, there is a small front and large front seal looks like your pan uses the older style small one. Iirc 55-74 or so

Re: Did I order the wrong oil pan? Timing cover? Gasket? All the above?

Thanks for the advice Tuned... that gasket (34509) fits the pan perfectly!

But...

the dipstick hole is on the wrong side.

So, third time's a charm. I need the 2-piece rear main seal, thin timing seal, and passenger dipstick hole.

Damn this is getting pricey. Anyone need one of these gasket sets? lol

Looks like these are the only gaskets made

Or ask if this is a thin front seal.
