Anyone running 5.7 Vortec with stock induction??? Or know anyone??
Over the last year ive been swapping out my 3.1 v6 with a vortec 5.7, vortec is in car with just about everything hooked up, swap has all vortec accessories and brackets. problems i am running into are
1. finding a way to route my hvac lines wanting to use diverter valve for my hvac vacuum.
2. how the vacuum lines route with this setup
3.deleted all emissions equipment but dont know what to do with purge canister, want to keep on car or vent it correctly. (truck had a canister and hoses routed to engine, would like to do that if possible but dont have wire connector for that cps sensor).
if anyone has or know someone who has gone this route with their swap and can point me in a direction of ideas for these few things would be greatly appreciated, so close to getting it running but clueless to this things above. Any help with any of this will help me out.
I do know this isnt the best induction route and i will be converting to tpi, but for now this is the route i'm taking!

mizz, I know nothing about the 3.1 V6 induction system. I can't imagine it's useable on top of the Vortec 5.7
With what little I understand about it at this point, I'd carb it.
jackson, what version of the 305 do you currently have? If it's an LG4/carb, piece of cake. Just get a Performer Vortec intake manifold. See my sig.
If you're TPI, you'd need a Vortec-TPI base to retain the stock induction/EFI.

yes that is correct Fast! I haven't tried putting my stock hood on yet but i think it will be close. carb would be a route but being that i paid 500 for the custom harness for this setup i want to try and make it work. im going to see if hood will fit today! just need to know where my heater hoses and vacuum lines needs to be run to make it operate the way it supposed too.

Okay guys I got a manual on the truck setups with vortec 5.7 and decided I'm going to go with truck diverter valve and hoses for my hvac setup, vacuum should work the same so that works out. Only other issue is my purge canister, I did find trucks canister diagram and it works the same pretty much besides truck setup having solinoids and sensors and wiring for all its equipment, not sure if my v6 had all that. But anyways I wanted to vent those fumes out the correct way and being that I wanted to delete emissions I do not have wiring for any of the canister sensors it was cut out in harness build. Does anyone have a option for me to vent these fumes?

Hood actually does fit no problem, I had a problem with my latch. So to anybody wanting to know if a vortec truck setup will fit under stock hood answer is yes. Fits with all from truck accept air conditioning so you have to get the ac delete idler pulley.
