Antifreeze leaking from unknown spot
Alright so the other day i replaced my starter, when i bought the starter i got more antifreeze cause i needed some. Put the starter on and i went to put antifreeze in the radiator and its probably about 1/4 of the way full. I start to put it in there and i get about half away in the radiator and hear something leaking like i dumped a bottle of water on the ground. I stop and get under the car and the passenger back side of the motor were the starter is, is covered in antifreeze. The starter, tranny pan, and the transmission has antifreeze on it. First thing i do is look up top and there is a little antifreeze on top of the intake not a lot but a little. I check the heater hose and they are dry. So what i am thinking is maybe the freeze plugs on the back of the motor are going out? What does it sound like to you guys?

I checked them the day this happened. They seem fine I followed them from the radiator to where they go into the firewall and they were dry.

I ran the car for about 10 15 minutes today and it was over heating. I have a mechanical gauge so I know it works and its brand new. The temp was 220ish

220ish is NOT overheating. It's PERFECT, exactly what it's designed to run at.
Your coolant leak is either the heater core fitting screwed into the intake, sort of under the distributor; or, the intake gasket.

The temp gauge went all the way up. I can't remember what it maxes out at but it went there I shut it off and the motor smoking.

Fix the leak. Worry about the other later.
The leak will be in one of the 2 places I told you about. Doesn't matter that the heater hoses themselves are dry.

Re: Antifreeze leaking from unknown spot
I found the spot. It wasn't the heater hoses. I just bought this car a couple months ago and he said it had a new intake manifold on it. I got a pressure tester and pumped air into the system and it lead me to a hole in the intake back by the disturber. They didn't put in the pipe plug in the back of the intake. So popped me one in and now it's pretty good. One small air leak up by the plenum but that is because it doesn't have a clamp on it and the hose it all messed up gonna get those tomorrow.
