What are a good set of cam bearing to install on a 350? I am looking for a sturdy set of cam bearings for an engine that will be set for the track. Need some help on a good set.

Re: cam bearings
Most all of the cam bearings sold today for a SBC are great and can handle more RPM, heat and use than most of this forum will put them through.
Asking who sells them, shows me you are new to this. You do know you can not change cam bearings with the engine in car and together right? You also know you have to have a special tool to drive the bearings in with right? You know you must line up the oiling hole in bearings to holes in the block's cam journals.. Which is easy on the front and back bearings but much harder on the middle ones.
Now for sources for parts.. Here is a handful of sites you need to add to your fav. tab. We all buy from at least a couple of these places.

So you would use a stock replacement cam bearing CH-8 in a engine with a HYD. or solid roller cam??
The OEM 350 blocks have a full groove in back of the cam bearings nothing to line up. The hole in the cam bearing should not be put at 6:00 but at 4:00 like OEM engines form GM.

Re: cam bearings
Those are a soft babbit bearing wait to you get a chance look at them, I have seen the result of guys using those with higher then stock spring pressures.
That's why they make a better cam bearing and maybe that why the OP wanted a good set of cam bearings.
Cam bearings is not a good place to cut corners, I have seen that bite a few guys before.

Re: cam bearings
Should never use cam bearing with 3 oil holes to much bleed off from 8:00 to 4:00
I use a GMP-8-T or ACL drill another oil hole appox. 3:30 and groove the OD of the cam bearing between the 2 holes.
In the SBC with a BBC cam tunnel I use the GMP-1 and machine as explained above.
BBC Dart GMP-12 machined as explained above.
I machine a lot of cam tunnels both SBC & BBC & Ford SB for 55MM cam cores and I just had Durabond build me custom cam bearing with a groove and 1 oil hole.
