Afr 8017 springs and xfi cams?
I have a set of afr heads with the standard 8017 springs. My question is will these be able to control the lobes on the xfi cams? Most people suggest upgrading to the 8019 springs. I'm looking at the xfi 268 in particular.

I have yet to run it, but I have a XFI280 and when I spoke to AFR they made no suggestion about upgrading valve springs. I think the upgraded springs are more relative to how high you're going to spin your motor, I won't be going over 6k.

My experience with AFR springs is that you should test them in a spring tester to confirm they are what the specs say they are. AFR turns out some quality cylinder heads, but their spring specs are often way out to lunch. Every set I've tested has had MORE pressure than spec, and not just by a little bit. More than I could ever explain by simple "production line variation".
