Car died while driving
Hey guys, I have a question. This literally just happened a little while ago. I was driving and while in the middle of going down the road my just shuts off and dies. It's not gas since I filled it up this morning.
I recently had a tune up done on the car and had a new MSD pro billet distributor, sparkplug wires, and coil, and also spark plugs done as well.
When I was driving, I think I heard some wire(s) making noise (like electricity) and then smoke coming out from under the hood. I popped the hood to try and see where it was coming from but by then there's wasn't anymore smoke since the car was dead.
The car will attempt to start, but won't turn over.
Does anyone know what may have caused this?

Look at the fusable links connected to the big terminal of the starter solenoid , see if any have bubbly looking insulation on them . If one of them IS burned , it did so as a result of a short circuit somewhere in the circuit fed by that link .

If the starter is turning and you know you're getting fuel, then it may be one of the parts that you recently replaced that give you spark. Check for spark between the coil to the distributor and distributor to the spark plugs. Good luck.
