Gas Cap

Hi guy's and gal's. I don't know if i never noticed it before or if i just am having a brain fart, but today when i removed my gas cap 3 times, it has a whoosh. Now, i think it's sucking air in (i think?) Is this normal or do i need a new cap? The car runs like a top and the temp today is about 85*. It's not a daily driver and i haven't filled it in a while until today when i noticed it it. So now half full or full it whooshes when you remove the cap. Please enlighten me of my shortcomings My wife just told me her 2004 impala does the same thing.

Re: Gas Cap

I think it should always "whoosh". A small pressure differential is normal.

Re: Gas Cap

You guy's are probably right, I just couldn't remember my cap ever doing that. Maybe it's cause I'm 55 and have CRS.

I'm a year behind you and have CRS as well. The big advantage is that you can do crazy stuff now and blame it on your memory.

It only gets better from here I'm afraid.....
