My buddy has 24lb injectors out of his 1986 Ford Mustang 5.0 HO. Would those work in a stock 1989 Firebird 5.7?

im not completely shore of this i would say no i dont think finding a way to wire them would be a problem since most are just two wire any way but mounting them i would think to be impossible with out some serious fabrication work some where but again i might be completely wrong on this

i went and crossed the injectors for the two cars and they call for the same accel injector so i would say it might work just fine maybe some one thats more of a mechanic can chime in on this

Yes they'll work just fine without any modification... My friend ran some on his 88 Camaro.

But 24LB injectors are a little more then stock (19LBs) so unless you need the extra fuel flow look for some 19Lb 3 bar bosh injectors.
You can use the injectors from a svo mustang also

A 24# Injector on a stock 350 tpi will run rich and about the limit of what the stock computer can compensate BTW.

The Ford injectors will run way too rich for a stock LB9 and a little rich for the L98. IIRC, I believe they work on the Ford 5.0 because they run a lower fuel pressure.

The injectors are both 3 BAR... So both 19LB injectors push 43.5 PSI. Their also both made by BOSCH and ford 5.0 19LB and chevy tpi 19lb injectors are the same injectors if you cross reference the part #.
If it's a 5.0 tpi you have then the 19LB 5.0 injectors will work like stock.

I don't think any factory 5.0 Fords ever came with 19 lb injectors.

There are some lol... Im pretty sure they all came with 19LB injectors but im not a mustang guy nor do I care I just know there are plenty (Ford) 19b inectors out there, and their cheap.

Yes and just because they came out of a 5.0 doesn't mean that's what it originally had

OP just buy 19Lb injectors from a 5.0 mustang or a tpi Camaro.

That's what came from the factory on all the 5.0s. And I agree, he should get 19 lb injectors.

Yes they will work fine, they are all the same injectors. I used Ford SVO 24lb/hr in my 350 TPI, they worked just fine, but car got worse mileage (ran a little rich). You would need to get a custom tune.

Your stock injectors are 22lb/hr, the 305 injectors are only 19lb/hr though.

Glad you agree. Chazman... But I just realized that te OP has a 5.7 tpi haha. So he might not wanna get 19 or 24lb injectors. Im sure the 24b ones will be fine if he has some bolt on mods like headers etc.

Yup, 19 for 305 22 for 350.
