rear end loose and swaying

rear end loose and swaying
I was coming home and all of a sudden it felt as if my car was fishtailing. I slowed down and noticed a ticking and kind of screching noise from the drivers. I limped in home and shook the rear of my car and it felt like the whole rear axle was gonna fall out. Any help?

Defintely something broken, get under and look while someone wiggles the car around. Panhard rod bushings maybe?

Panhard bar? The red item in the picture. That is the part that locates the axle from left to right. Yeah, if that broke, the axle would be wiggling back and forth under the rear of the car. Better question: what broke? The bar? bolts holding it? Or the mount?

Yeah that might be it. Its broke right in the middle. Could you weld it? Or is it an easy part to change? And how do you upload pictures from your phone?

The panhard is a major suspension component. Whatever caused the stock piece to fail (rust, impact damage) probably means welding might be good enough to get you home. Get a replacement. The aftermarket (Founders Performance) has some inexpensive replacements.
One bolt on each end. Doesn't get much easier than that. Nuts and bolts probably need plenty of PBBlaster or LiquidWrench to break the rust bond.
Don't know about phone uploads.
