180 Thermostat?
Assuming the PROM is using a stock tune (I haven't gotten that far into this beast yet ), is there any harm is running a 180 thermostat even in the fans don't kick on until 225/235? I would think that's ok, as it would just open sooner, but I always appreciate expert opinions!
My plan is to replace all hoses, thermostat, and the water pump. Since I eventually plan to get into programming the PROM, I'd like to have the thermostat in place that I want. I know it's not a big deal to change it, but if I don't have to do it twice...
The PO replaced the radiator with a "modern" plastic aluminum unit, so I don't need to worry about that, for now.
On top of that, the #1 fan seems to kick on earlier that 225 and VATS is disabled (not sure if via programming or resistor bypass), so for all I know, the fan temp may have been reprogrammed.
Thanks in advance!

I run a 180 but I swapped to a SW555 switch that turns on the fan at 210
