Tool Recommendation
I picked up an automatic 85-92 shift plate for my T/A off of ebay in good condition but I need to cut the wholes for the window switches. Does anyone have any recommendations on what tool I can use so I don't hack it up?

Re: Tool Recommendation
If you have another one with the holes already cut you can transfer the position from one to the other using a compass and/or caliper. A compass would work best since you can mark it with the pencil end. You can put some kind of sticky paper over the shifter plate to mark on, and also protect the surface at the same time. The general idea is that you pick two reference points and then measure from one shifter plate and transfer to the other from each point. Where the lines intersect is where the corner of the hole would be. Make sure your reference points are in a place where the pointed end won't dig into anything.
With the cutouts marked, I would drill holes (just inside) of each corner so you end up with rounded corners, and use something like a dremel or fine toothed hand saw to cut from hole to hole. The best dremel set up imo is to use the extension accessory with the reinforced wheel at low speed.
This is a different application but shows how to transfer the placement location from one piece to another.
