Bought my 1st 3rd gen, need help.
So to be clear I am a total scrub when it comes to cars but I really wanted a project camaro and I finally had the ***** to do it. I got a 92 Camaro RS with a 305. The previous owner said don't buy it if you don't know what your doing but I bought this beast anyways. Car won't pass emissions because of the carburater imo, the cat is good. Mechamic says if inpit in the fuel injection i would be golden. had a slight over heating issues but hasn't returned. Thought I had a starter issue but now that went away. The **** is up. Have some upgrades apperantly but don't know what they are by looking at it. Hoping you guys can help me.http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...psnvz1nr3m.jpg

Also have cross drilled rotors and pads need replacing. Is replacing any different than most cars because of the rotors?

Since it's been converted to carb, how is the AIR injection valve or EGR valve even being activated? These are/were both controlled by the fuel injection ECM. Also, the carb could be out of tune and running rich. Too bad the TBI was removed.
Cross drilled rotors are usually directional. So they are different from left to right. That's the only installation difference than stock rotors. You gonna get new rotors or just pads? If the rotors aren't too worn then you can have them resurfaced.

Not trying to change the subject but the vats also controls the ecm pulse to the injectors, dealing with my buddy 92 firebird .I bypass the starter relay w/jumper wire.I can get it to start up for a few second.I have power to the injectors but the pulse wires are dead.I read about company bakerelectronix online and they offer a bypass module to over ride the vats system.Has anyone tried it and looking for anyfeedbacks thanks

The other option is too bolt the TBI unit back on. You'll need to make sure all the sensors and required connectors are all still there. Is the stock (in-tank) fuel pump still there? Is the ECM still under the dash? How much of the TBI system was removed? From your pics, I can tell you that the ECT and MAP senors are both missing. Then after you hook it all back up, cross your fingers and hope it runs correctly. If that holley tbi unit flows more air and/or has larger injectors, its going **** with the factory tune. The PROM will have to be modified to run correctly.
You really need some one local to you to help you out with stuff, or start doing some heavy research on all this. This site has tons of info.

Re: Bought my 1st 3rd gen, need help.
That's a holley Throttle body injection (TBI) unit. It's not a factory piece, and I'm curious as to why the PO pulled it off and put on the carb. I'm guessing it was not running right. They might have bolted on the intake and holley tbi unit then discovered it doesn't run proper without tuning the prom. If you are not too knowledgeable with this stuff, then you need to find someone you can trust to work on your car. If passing emissions is your primary goal, then you will need to convert the emission systems (AIR injection, EGR) to function independent of the ECM. Look up how they functioned on older model thirdgens that came with a factory carb. Looks like it still has the orig. distributor. Timing advance is also ECM controlled. Pull that out and put in the older style (large cap) HEI distrib. Then have someone tune the motor to run as stoich as possible...after all that you only MIGHT pass emission. As your camaro needs to pass the standards set for your 92 model.
