700R4 Help - Hard Shift into Rev / Drive
Hey Guys, Any help is appreciated, I have a 700R4 trans that has a hard shift from park into drive and reverse (and from drive to reverse, reverse to drive) that gets worse as the trans warms up. The initial start up shifts are excellent and smooth, but after driving, the transitions into gear get rougher. Any clues on what the issue may be? Thanks in advance!! If this issue is somewhere else please point me there, I couldnt find it in searching.

check the trans fluid ... is it low on fluid? add fluid till full or better still Lucas Trans fix...
when checking the fluid level if the fluid smells burnt or looks any color besides pink then the fluid & filter needs to be changed.
with the trans pan removed. if there is lot of grey "sludge" in the pan (clutch material) the clutches are possibly worn to the point that the trans needs to be rebuilt.
A fluid change alone will not "fix" the problem if there is excessive wear.

Fluid levels are good, its not burning the fluid at all, pulled the pan a couple months ago and there was very very little sludge on the magnet in the pan. I was hoping it might be an adjustment issue but maybe it is something more requiring a rebuild. Thanks for the reply!
