Part ID
When I installed my Megashifter the instructions called to zip tie it down and forget about it, but when I was pulling up the carpet I ran into again and about halfway through it's pretty much rusted through. I know it has something to do with locking the key in when it's extended but that's about it. I was wondering if there is a way to delete this somehow? I thought of cutting it way up in the dash but I'm worried it'll lock the key up some random day. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Justin

Re: Part ID
Unless you want to dismantle the steering column to remove the locking pin just tie the cable in the unlocked position

Re: Part ID
Thanks for the name, besides it being extended to lock the key do you know how else it operates? Does it pull that locking pin or something? Just curious to know how it works. As for tying it up my concern is that right about in the middle of it it's rusted out only held together by a few strands of the cable. If I snip it there and tie it up somewhere in the dash what are the odds of it slowly slipping into the locking mode?
