Fuel line repair. Compression fitting questions.
So rather then replacing the whole fuel line because the previous owner stripped the nut bolts on the fuel filter I would rather cut the filter out and use compression fittings and some new steel fuel lines to at in. I think I read the line is a 3/8 in. Is this the right compression fitting I would need? part num rnb-800-035.

Re: Fuel line repair. Compression fitting questions.
Barbed fittings are for rubber hose, not metal lines. you will have to remove a section of metal line from each end to splice with hose, rated for fue,l to reconnect the fuel pump. at that point you simply need the barbed fitting with correct pipe thread to connect the fuel filter and hose clamps to connect the sections of hose to the steel lines.
The stock fuel lines are 5/16 supply 3/16 return..

If you don't have the means to do the Saginaw o-ring flare buying a 3/8 union and going to the junk yard to cut off some hard line off any gm efi vehicle 85-around 93 or buy this kit.
