I have a 5.7L out of a 91 vette thats now in my 87 IROC. I had purchased many moons ago, a water pump by Edlebrock for a different engine all together. The water pump is a 8811. Its a "long" pump and my 91 motor requires a short. Is there anyway to make this long pump work on my car? I'm asking because its chrome/polished and Ive had a hard time selling it. Its never been used and Id love to see it on my car. It was originally bought for a different car all together

Your "91 motor" doesn't "require a short".

The choice of pump lies ENTIRELY with the accessory drive system you are using.

The MOTOR couldn't care less which height legs the pump casting has.

Not sure where you're getting this notion about "requiring" a short pump, anyway; the most recently released stock accessory drive that goes with a short pump, disappeared after 1973.

91 Vette used the long-style pump, too. Just remember that it was designed to work with a serpentine drive system and so is a "reverse rotation" water pump. Your Edlebrock 8811 is a Victor series "standard rotation" pump (like an old V-belt setup would use).

It's also a VERY pricey water pump. I'm not kidding- go price one of them on Summit or Jegs. Your eyes will fall out of your head. Whatever pump you need for your application I'm sure selling the Victor pump would easily pay for another one.
