Re: Fake MSD units
A few years ago I recall hearing about some cheap "Pro Comp" branded 6AL copies floating around out there.
I think there was an MSD lawsuit regarding them.
I wonder if these fakes are just re-branded Pro Comps?

Re: Fake MSD units
It's not like the 6A or 6AL are anything special. It's a huge housing that only has an ignition module inside that can fit inside a distributor.
Take one apart some day and have a look inside.

Re: Fake MSD units
That could be what I originally saw. I don't even run an MSD ignition. I still run Holley Annihilator ignition. Just snagged a 800-300 a little while ago but haven't swapped out the 800-200 yet. Holley doesn't make these any more and they're still a great bang for the buck if you can find one.
If I ever go to an MSD, a digital 7 would be the minimum I would use.
