no EST bypass mode ???

hey guys not sure if this is the right section for this ...mods feel free to move

anyways just installed an HSR on my l98 , the problem i have is when i disconnect the est bypass , the check engine light comes on just like it should however the engine sound does not change, according to tunepro spark relative to tdc is still at 18 degree's +/- , and my timing light would seem to indicate it has that much advance or more ( my light does not have advance). im thinking the issue maybe the module (ignition module in dist) , anyone run into this before ????

Re: no EST bypass mode ???

Does it advance when you rev it (w/ bypass hooked up)?

do you mean with the bypass unplugged ...that I'm not sure of ...with everything plugged in the car runs fine.I went to harbor freight tonite and got a timing light with advance so I should be able to figure out better tomorrow exactly what is going on

Re: no EST bypass mode ???

I just wanted to know if it functions correctly w/ the bypass hooked up.
You know that your not supposed to unhook the bypass while its running.
