87 Camaro Wont Keep Idle? Help Welcome

So just for a couple weeks i been trying to figure out what can possible wrong with my car its a 87 Camaro with a 305 TPI zero mods all stock with only 70,000 miles FYI. I Did about a billion 's First when i try turning it on it will stay idle for a couple seconds then shut right off even if i give it gas it will die that's what it does for most of the time if it stays on as soon as i try to put it in gear it will shut right off or idle really bad till it shuts off a few seconds later even when gas is given it will just die out. I Changed Almost every possible parts I can think of And Calibrated then AccordinglyAll Parts Are New from autozone

IAC

TPS

Mass Air Flow Sensor

Duralast Distributor(Cap,Rotor,ICM,Pick-up Coil)

Ignition Coil

Accel Wire Set (2 months old)

Alternator

Battery bought in January

New Fuel Pump Changed it 2 time just in case it was Bad with filters and strainers

Looked For Any Possible Vaccum Leaks But Their All intact

Their is all so No Check Engine Light To Top It Off

Suspecting Maybe Bad ECM??
At This Point I'm Really Bumbed Out Kinda Lost On Were To Go From Here Any Help Will Be Appreciated
Will Get A video Tomorrow Morning

I would have to hear it run for sure but what comes to mind would be ecm or even some bad injectors.

It doesnt sound like some of them are getting gas doesnt sound like its firing on all cylinders. Or the air fuel mix is off. YOu changed the plugs with the wires as well right?

If its not throwing a code thats where it gets hard I wish I could see it first hand, But does it ever backfire when you hit the gas? Not release but when you hit it?

Well it it ran really good I could do burn out with a good sound and engine had no hiccups it was soild
But if a injector is bad would it throw the engine off?
But yea when I hit the gas before it would not miss now when I hit the gas in drive it dies

Re: 87 Camaro Wont Keep Idle? Help Welcome

It becomes worse when you give it gas cause instead of missing at 800 rpm its missing at higher rpm for more misses.

Re: 87 Camaro Wont Keep Idle? Help Welcome

Ok I am currently replacing my tps on my car cuase I am having problems with it. this is what a very knowledgable guy on here told me.

Yes, if the tps doesn't read correctly at the top end of the range. Use volt meter and use paperclips or thin wire to connect to the two terminals on the tps With switch on it not running it should read close to 0 at idle and 5 volts at full throttle

It seems like the idle is right but you need to make sure the throttlr opened is right.

With the lead disconnected from the TPS, does the lead read below .2 volt (200mV)?

With the conection off the white always has 5V. A and B have no voltage since blk is ground and blue is output but the white always has a constant 5V

Well I'm just reading from the book here. It says after disconnecting the tps it should display the throttle position below .2 volts.

If yes: You should prove the sensor ground circuit with a test light connected to the battery voltage if the light comes on the it says either a faulty connection or a bad tps. If the light stays off then you have a open sensor ground circuit or faulty ecm.

If no: It says tps signal circuit shorted to voltage or faulty ecm.

Install three jumper wires between the tps and the harness connector
with the ignition on and a voltmeter connected to the terminals marked A and B on the the connector (the top and middle terminals), adjust the tps, the voltage should fluctuate. If it does then its working correctly and you want to adjust the position of the tps to 0.54 to 0.56 volts and then tighten tps mounting screws to set it properly. You don't sound dumb man relax. Everybody has to learn and everyone doesn't know everything.

Well I'm able to do that but when I disconnect the TPS shouldn't that affect my idle because its like if its not their
The ground from the connector is good
But you said the their is a connection that should be .2 v when disconnected which terminal exactly is that?
Thank you guys for your help I really appreciate it

Re: 87 Camaro Wont Keep Idle? Help Welcome

I think that would be the same terminals as i mentioned before. That reading would be in the position opposite of WOT (wide open throttle). I'm assuming that your tps has a 3 wire connector.

Re: 87 Camaro Wont Keep Idle? Help Welcome

OK so I hope I have figured this out I have 2 TPS one Duralast the other is OEM from the car I had laying around in the car out of curiosity I tried it and noticed the connector stringed to go in so I pulled out the connector and the ground was bent to the side my assumption is that it created a lose contact that would touch and not touch at times very strange how the Duralast when in with no problem but when I bent the wire in a but the TPS started to work as it should put I'm buying a new connector first thing tommoro morning crossing my fingers thru the whole night!
