MAP to MAF
I just bought a 350 out of an 88' Iroc with what looks to be a 90'-92' MAP plenum on it in pictures...I didn't buy it from the owner but from a place that had the car after it was wrecked. I have it going into my 87' Iroc replacing my 305TPI with 7165 ECM. Of course I won't know for sure until I see it in person but just in case I have to do a swap back to MAF what would I need to do so as I already have the TPI setup off the 305..anything else I would need to make the switch that I haven't thought of yet?? Thanks!

Re: MAP to MAF
I guess another question I could be asking is it possible to run a MAF system with a plenum from 90'-92'?? maybe that's whats going on there??

Re: MAP to MAF
Just swap your 305 intake on to the 350 motor. You will need the knock sensor for a 350 and a 350 chip for a 87. Use the Injs from the 350 on the 350.
This could also be a good time to upgrade the intake parts for more power if your into that.
Its nice and easy to redo a intake out of the car. Enjoy.

Re: MAP to MAF
Ok thanks! being that I bought this motor with all the stuff to go with it like intake, pulleys, harness etc. I hope the knock sensor comes with it as well.

Re: MAP to MAF
Also I just thought about this...if I change the intake to the one on my 305 MAF will I still be able to use the harness off the new 350? Or will I then have to use the harness off the 305 and use that along with the intake on the 350? Or does it make a difference whether its MAP or MAF..is it the same kind of harness?? Or the year of the car make a difference? 87' and 88'?

Re: MAP to MAF
they can be repined to suit but to run the MAP harness off the new 350 as it comes out of the car
you need a MAP (730 ) computer
If the new engine is MAP then the knock sensor won't work on a MAF engine.
Need a 350 MAF knock sensor
You don't even need to swap the intake , install the 350 complete and just remove the MAP sensor and plug the vac line that runs to it ; is only difference between MAP and MAF plenums
