Does anyone know if a serpentine set up off of an 88-92 Camaro will work on my 1986 Iroc? And if so, what do I need to do to retrofit my engine to make it work?

I would grab the additional support brackets if you can along with all of the nuts and bolts to help with the swap. (I had read before that the support brackets help reduce fatigue of the aluminum.) The alternator is wired differently as well as the AC lines so what you'll need depends on what you're looking to keep or not. If you're not keeping the AC then there is a delete pulley for around $30 if you look around. Water pump is different too, but I chose to buy a new one instead of the used one off of the donor car. EGR is easily bypassed with a shorter belt. The number for that is in one of the tech articles on this site.

Yeah, I did it when I swapped out my engine with a older v belt style. If I remember, you do not need any of the brackets (its been a while I may be wrong. double check to be safe), You need:
1. waterpump for a serpentine belt setup, you cannot simply change the pulley, the bolt pattern is different, and when you do pull the water pump, make sure to change the gaskets, some people use permatex just to aid in the re sealing of a gasket, but for $5 for both gaskets, you mine as well.
2. Serpentine harmonic balancer
3 Serpentine alternator
4 Now, I'm not sure if the older cars had the smog pump setup, but if they do a serpentine one (the block i changed didnt have a smog pump, so i had to add that on.
5 Serpentine a/c or pulley
6. Serpentine tensioner
7 Serpentine belt

I may have forgotten some stuff but that is basically everything, look at the two block and use some common sense if I left some stuff out. It may seem like a lot but it's relatively simple (just be careful of some of the smog pump, or other stuff, some of the bolts are either star or allen, sorry its been a while, but I do remember they strip VERY easily so be cautious!)

EDIT : KEY NOTE My car was equipped with a serpentine engine, just the new block I got for it wasn't, with electric fans and wiring may be different for the alt, so double check!

Yep, I forgot to mention this. I actually broke my socket piece and had to pick up a better quality one to get the bolt out. IIRC, some are way inside the bracket and might be difficult to remove if the bolt head stripped out. I made sure it was clean so it seated all the way in and gave it a sharp rap with a hammer before turning it. I forgot what size it was as well.

I just barely got mine out without stripping it, my Matco set skipped some of the sizes and i realized it a little too late. Had to run to harbor freight real quick just to buy one that would fit snug. And one of them, I stripped the bolt from a star and only a allen would make it work, or vice versa. Use anti seize and dont kill these bolts. Good luck finding a bolt like that on a Sunday night when you need the car out to drive home!

im using a set up from a 94 pick up, seems to fit fine, i used my old water pump and just re drilled the holes for the water pump pully bigger and made sure it was centred.
