33417369 heads/valve lift

Hey guys.

I have a Goodwrench 350 replacement engine (the 8.5:1, .383"/.401" lift cam one). Do you know if I can safely add any more cam to this engine? How much lift can the bone stock 369 heads tolerate?

thanks

ramey

Re: 33417369 heads/valve lift

Up to 0.460" should be safe, since those are the same heads, valves and springs as GMs 290-HP crate 350, which has that much valve lift. However, this "8.5:1" engine is actually an 8.0:1 engine. That, plus the way those heads flow, suggest only one cam: Comp's 12-305-2 Better to return that junker and invest in a 12530282 or 12530283, depending on whether or not you want 4-bolt mains.
