OBD port issue

I recently bought my dream car: an '86 Iroc with T-tops. The previous owner had the original 5.0 replaced with a 5.7l TPI out of an 89 Iroc. Unfortunately, the OBD port under the dash doesn't work at all (Neither do any of the check engine lights or any of that. That isn't as big a deal, but I thought it might be related or add context for someone.) Any suggestions about how to go about hooking the port up to the wiring harness/computer? Is this a relatively simple problem? I was thinking just try to follow the wires from the port and see where they go, but I don't really know how that port is supposed to connected to the rest of the wiring.
