should the IAC sound like this?
So i was checking a code on my car, and when I inserted the jumper in the ALDL, my IAC was making an awful clicking sound. Does this mean it was bad? I have been having alot of problems with my car not starting when hot. I have done alot of research on here and figured it is probaly my ICM, but would a faulty IAC cause this?
I figured this sound couldn't be normal, so I took the IAC out and attempted to clean it. Well I know it is bad now, cause when I tried to get it apart it fell apart in my hand. I am just curious if this was normal sound, I don't remember hearing it before.
OH well now it is off to get a new one.
Thanks!

The only time you'll hear an IAC is after putting it back in. You'll hear it go "thunk" once as it resets itself. Otherwise, no noise.

Yeah, I was thinking it wasn't normal. Guess that's why it fell apart when I tried to clean it.
