cai sucking just air and not rain water
dont drive my car in the rain but ive been suck in the past forcing me to drive home. anyone have any ideas to prevent sucking up water.
i know theres gonna be a member suggesting returning the filter to the engine bay. Im considering this but might try to fab something up that will prevent the worst from happening. The only thing that comes to mind is having another filter and throwing it on if i get caught in the rain. i can pull apart my cai with little effort. It would be installed mid way down the pipe. basically the factory location. At the moment the filter is inside the front fender infront of the wheel high as possible.

Not sure where you were describing the filters location. Pic?
If it is inside the engine bay, it is safe from water but just a HAI. If it is outside, like under the battery tray locations, just fab a plate underneath t to prevent any splashing upwards & a wall behind it to prevent the tire from throwing water on it.

Try to have the CAI air filter turned down so water will have to go "up" into the intake. Water doesn't like to travel upwards.
