When I got the car I found the vacuum hose to the ball next to the canister unplugged and I have no idea where they plug in to. I have read some of the threads here, but it didn't help me much. so here my question, where do the vacuum hoses go in from the vacuum ball canister?

My car is a '88 firebird with a 305 Tbi without cruise control

From the intake, behind the TBI - a vacuum line comes off, has a check valve that splits it into two lines, one goes to heater controls (through firewall by the heater box), the other runs along firewall to driver fender, then down fender edge to the vacuum ball.

Thank you very much, I found out that it was set up wrong (don't know why the hose on the intake went to the heater controls).Thanks a lot its been bugging me since I got the car a few years ago. One more thing, Should it have 2 T connecter and a check valve. The long hose with the check valve had a T connecter at the end and there was a separate T connecter with a very small hose to it, are they extra or do they go somewhere?

They all need to go somewhere or else be plugged as it creates a vacuum leak.

someone had the car before me and it had a lot of problem and the vacuum hose weren't connected. so i rebuild the engine and fix the overheating problem and replace the burn ECM. I got everything fix just about except that vacuum ball hose. I just need to make sure if there extra or those T connecters do go somewhere, and the way you told me how they went, I don't think it needs it or am I wrong.

what about for a TPI? i have speant the last several hours searching...

i had a hose from cruise control that hit a t connection, one went into the firewall, and the other was danglin all open. it was the perfect length/fit to the vacuum ball in the fender. is this the correct spot for it?

also, my car is wicked lowered, and didnt get under to inspect the ball. i have never looked at one before. does it only have 1 hose connection?
