What IS this thing???
Ok, so... I've swapped to carbed a long time ago (from TPI 305), and I have this HUGE bundle of wiring sitting on the passenger side of the engine bay right behind the headlight, including some kind of canister, that has multiple vac lines to it (not hooked up...) and some kind of hardline that seems to dissapear behind the engine through the tranny "hood" area... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS!!!! lol...
Before I cut out the huge chunk of wiring (most of it was to the old sensors on the TPI/intake stuff...) I want to know what this thing USED to do, before I cut the plug that goes to it... I've attached pics...
One shows the piece itself, the other the spot where it went, including the little hardline piece, you can see it in there...

Charcoal canister for tank vent /purge system
Vent line runs from tank to canister, canister stores fumes which are then send ( purged ) to TB to be burnt in engine

Re: What IS this thing???
oh, well, I don't think it matter then, since it isn't connect to anything on the engine side anymore...

Re: What IS this thing???
yeah, I was just thinking about that, Thing is, I need to see if it's even connected in the back any more, since I pulled the pump out and use a pickup instead now (mech fuel pump for carb...). If it is, I'll find some way to deal with it...
