Re: hood struts replacement

these ones for instance
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hood-...Q5fAccessories
20bux, a lot cheaper than driving to the junk yard, buying a used POS strut that "might" work and the aggravation of screwing with it and still not being able to make it work, throwing it away, going back the yard, ect, ect, then buying new ones.

im sure these 20 dollar ones are crap, i personally would buy a nicer set, you usually get what you pay for.

Same here...

Mine have lasted 2 years... I took em off the car a couple of weeks ago when the 'glass hood went on.

Re: hood struts replacement

Im sure it's cheaper to order the struts from overseas somehow than it is to buy a fiberglass hood. But that would definitely fix it. In fact if you ever intend to get a fiberglass hood, keep your old struts around.

Re: hood struts replacement

I'm in the same boat as you. My hood struts are totally shot. After lookin around though I found some good monroe struts for only $15 a piece. http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?N=0&Nr=AND(make:Chevrolet,model:Camaro,year:1992,brand:Monroe,part:Hood+Strut)&ptc=S1171391678W45d204bec356b&ptid=pt13656681464ad102a77545e&id=kape42d1
