Starter/Starting issues and troubleshooting
I have an 87 Camaro with a 305 that was just rebuilt not too long ago. I drove the car for a few weeks and the starter started dragging some. I decided to drive it down the road and do some troubleshooting. I killed the car and put it in neutral and tried to start it again and all it did was click. I towed it back to the garage, got it on the lift, pulled the starter out and had it tested at auto zone and advance, it tested good everytime. When I turn the key the radio dies and resets for some reason. The battery isn't the problem, and the starter isn't the problem so what else would you guys check first?

Bad ground at the battery, or the motor, or loose starter main wire....sounds like loose ground to me...

I hate to ask but where are some of the more important grounds at? I'll have to take a look later when it cools off some.

Alright it was the negative cable's ground to the motor. It fired right up after I tinkered with it. The head strap on the passengers side seems to have burned through the wiring harness cover it was sitting on for some reason...it didnt hurt anything but idk whats up with that.
