Confused...engine question
Ok, in every vehicle I have ever had it had a 350, 305, etc. My 1991 Camaro RS has a 3.1 V6. Is that it? What I mean--is that a 305?..350? I have always heard 3 digit numbers for engines... Or is it JUST 3.1 V6? lol I hope that makes sense.

Re: Confused...engine question
305 and 350's are V8's. The 3.1L (as opposed to the 5.0L for the 305 and the 5.7L for the 350) is a V6. You have 6 cylinders. The other 2 have 8.

Re: Confused...engine question
I think that helps. Thanks guys. While I'm here i would like to ask (sorry if this is the wrong section) what would make my speedometer work but not the odometer? I thought they both worked hand in hand. Also when I go from park to go into drive it dies if i am not on the gas. Just got the car and have no clue what to do with those two problems. Also while stopped and at a light, in drive, etc it changes sound up and down...hops a little.

Re: Confused...engine question
No I dont. The only light that comes on (stays on) is the infl air bag one, but the steering wheel isnt what came with it so I dont pay much attention to that one.
