Car: 1988 camaro z28,1997 camaro lt1
Engine: 355 afr 195 heads,tpis big mouth
Transmission: 700r-4 built by me 3-4 z pack
Axle/Gears: 3.42
can't pass smog hi nox
a friend of mine had a chevy dealership installed 5.7 motor in a 88 camaro that had a 5.0 tpi motor in it,he went to smog it and it would not pass smog
it has a new aftermarket cat converter they are saying the it has hi nox.what would be the problem it still has the stock 305 chip.

The 305 chip is likely a problem maby not the only one but deffinetly a problem. Although basically the same there are certant small differences between the 350 tpi and the 305 tpi set ups. My guess is one of them hasnt been attended too. If you do a quick search on 305 tpi to 350 TPI swap threads thell lay out all the info you need to see what else has to be done becides just changing motors. If that dosnt solve your problem then well have to look alittle deeper but untill then check out some of the 305-350 TPI stap threads and see if theres anything that needs to be swapped that may have been overlooked.
